Rig “Salt Lake Explore 1” was developed on the basis of the features of salt lake in Tibet. The peculiarities of the equipment and its application in First Scientific Investigation in Qiangbei depopulated zone of Tibet and in 2002 were introduced. The equipment was further modified being directed against the existing problems in application so that made it better suit the survey under the adverse conditions of waters, tidal-flat area, marsh, hard land, anoxia plateau and so on. It displayed superior performances in salt lake survey in Tibet in 2003 after its modification.
