    Abstract:

Besides high core recovery of drilling hole, high drilling efficiency and few drilling accident, low temperature foam drilling technology has characteristics of low thermal conductivity, low thermal capacity and little influence to borehole walls. The low temperature foam system is composed of air compressor, foam liquid tank, heat exchanger, foam generator and parameter monitoring system. The low temperature foam can be obtained in foam generator by mixing cooled low-temperature foaming agent and air. While coring drilling with the low temperature foam as circulation medium, the returned foam can be recycled again after defoaming. This technology has been applied in frozen formation in Mohe basin. According to the experimental data analysis, the low temperature foam drilling technology has little effect on the permafrost temperature, and high core recovery can meet the requirement of permafrost drilling.
