Abstract:To improve the technology strength of geological prospecting and the backward status of geo-equipment, authorized by State Council on August 8th in 1978, The Institute of Exploration Technology was founded. During the 30 years, staff of two generations have been working diligently and creatively to get great progress in the areas of research, construction and management. At present, a geological scientific research institution has been built. Based on prospecting technique, the institute has become a scientific research organization on geological survey. The author recalled the developing course of hard work and reforming of the institute, summarized the reforming of scientific and technique system, geological survey and scientific research. The key fields and preferred directions of geological survey and scientific research for the institute in Eleventh Five-Year Plan Period are pointed out.

Abstract:Pre-stress anchor rod (rope) has the outstanding features with driving reinforcement, in-depth reinforcement, the flexibility in arrangement, short construction period, less disturbance to the rock (soil) body, good economical efficiency and so on, therefore it is widely applied in the engineering of such as bridge, side slope, foundation pit, tunnel, dam reinforcement, anti-floating and anti-leaning structures, geological disaster control and so on. This article summarized the testing method in common use and the present development of the apparatus and existent problems, pointed out the research and development trend of the measuring and testing techniques in pre-stress anchoring engineering.

Abstract:Collection and transmission of geological hazard monitoring data has its own particularity compared to other industries, but the rapid development in automatic monitoring equipments and communication technology brought favorable conditions for automatization of geological hazard monitoring. The research on the remote data collection and transmission system based on GPRS/GSM network and the application in the real-time monitoring website are introduced in this paper. The results show that the system is feasible, cost-effective and convenient, and also it is the development trend of the monitoring technology for geological hazard.

Abstract:This paper introduces the main assignments of the monitoring and early-warning system engineering for control of geological hazard, monitoring and early-warning construction and the main methods. The significance was expatiated on effective monitoring in control engineering of geological hazard, and the application of a newly developed monitoring instrument was presented, which was used in monitoring for control of the third period of geological hazard in Three Gorges reservoir region.

Abstract:The monitoring on landslide in K2794 of ER-Kang road of No.318 national highway lasted for two and a half year, and experienced 3 stages——before, during and after the construction, provided the auxiliary data for the design and construction of landslide treatment. Abstract:With the case of large accumulation of Erlang temple, demonstration was made on the formation mechanism with dynamical geology and the analysis on process of slope. And the primary evolution indicated that the integral sliding was impossible, but because of lower local stability, it was possible to have large-scale unstable failure induced by mass rainfall and human engineering activities.

Abstract:Landslide of Shengjibao in Fengjie County of the Three Gorges reservoir area was one of the monitoring and early-warning projects with important geographical position. Engineering geological characteristics and main influence factors were analyzed, and four monitoring methods were determined with the application of GPS in the crust deformation, deep displacement, landslide thrust monitoring. The feasibility of these monitoring methods was proved in operation, and at last, suggestions were put forward to control of Shengjibao landslide according to monitoring conclusion.

Abstract:Deformation monitoring is an important means to monitor the safety of deformation, and the basic function is to collect dynamic displacement information through deformation measurement. According to the information, analysis and determination can be made on early-warning to dangerous situations. Analysis was made on F testing method of stability of basic benchmark of GPS deformation monitoring study. Based on the sliding monitoring engineering in Yunyang County, analysis on stability of basic benchmark of GPS landslide deformation monitoring networks was also made.

Abstract:An early warning monitoring method for landslides based on quasi-distributed fiber optic stress sensing is presented in this paper. The principle of quasi-distributed fiber optic stress sensing and the monitoring method for landslides with the internal stress of landslides are described. According to the characteristics of the soil mass and the changes of stress which was detected by the system, through some applications of specific mathematical models, the movement can be predicted. With stress measuring range 0~15MPa, spatial resolution 2m, measuring distance 1km, the quasi-distributed fiber optic stress sensor and the warning monitoring system are designed. This landslide monitoring method has outstanding performance characteristics; for example, high-sensitivity, high spatial resolution, quasi-distributed measuring, easy networking to monitor landslides in the area and very good adaptability in project.

Abstract:Deep fractured gas reservoir has the characteristics of abnormal high pressure and high production, and in the well drilling and completion process, blowout and leaky accidents often occur, so leakage proof and blocking are necessary. Experiments were made with full-scale plugging devices in statistic and dynamic high-pressure simulated plugging and combination of optimized formulas; and systematic review was made on plugging capacity, resistance to pressure and acid solubility. The determined formula has the characteristics of high-rate of acid solution, high-strength of plugging and good effect of flow-back, which provides basis for on-site leakage proofing.

Abstract:According to various of the technical difficulties such as low drilling efficiency in hard rock and short service life of diamond drilling bit, analysis was made on the inherent links between blade-extruding of hot-pressing diamond and rock abrasiveness. The matrix and properties were considered to be important factors, so starting with the research on matrix and properties of hot-pressing diamond drilling bit, hot-pressing iron-based impregnated diamond drilling bit was developed. Drilling in hard and compact rocks, the efficiency increased from about 0.5 m/h to about 1.17 m/h, and the service life was extended from 10 m/each to 21.31 m/each. It was proved that iron-based alloy is a new matrix material of diamond drilling bit and hot-pressing iron-based impregnated diamond drilling bit is a new type of diamond drilling bit.

According to the problems of low efficient, short service life and low core recovery in coal-measures soft and hard multi-interbeded formation(3~8 degree), the paper put forward a design with strengthening radius retention structure, improving the water circulation and advancing auxiliary cutting teeth. φ77mm PDC bit was designed and manufactured, and good application effect was achieved in the exploration borehole No.3 of Tonghua coal mine in Qijiang County of Chongqing.
