    • Fast Drilling Technology of Large Diameter Well for Emergency Rescue in Mine

      Abstract:Because of the high attention to mine safety production work in China, mine emergency rescue drilling equipments and construction technologies are rapidly developed. Fast drilling technology and process is the key to improve the level of emergency rescue technology of vertical drilling. In the cases of complex formations and unexpected factors, and especially in the long period of time to rescue the trapped workers, it is necessary to consider the rescue equipments selection and process matching, which have important significance to realize the emergency rescue by fast drilling and reduce the accident casualty rate and economic loss.

    • Research on Liquid Xanthan Gum Oil-in-water Drilling Fluid

      Abstract:As a low-density under balance drilling fluid liquid for deep well, oil-in-water drilling fluid is suitable for the construction in low pressure and low permeability formations. By the investigation on development situation of oil-in-water drilling fluid both in China and abroad, the laboratory experiments were made on liquid xanthan gum oil-in-water drilling fluid. According to the different drilling fluid systems, the test was divided into 5 groups to test and study the effect of different additions to emulsifying property and rheology of each drilling fluid system. The experimental results show that with the increase of the liquid xanthan gum amount, the emulsifying property of each drilling fluid system is gradually improved, and so is the rheology. Through the analysis on the test results, the formula of polysulfonate oil-in-water drilling fluid system is optimized, which has good lubricity with simple construction process; and the formula of low density aerated drilling fluid system is optimized, which is suitable for under balance pressure drilling to effectively protect the reservoir.

      Abstract:Lost circulation often happens during drilling process, which is not only a severe trouble for safe drilling, but also leads to more complex problems to seriously restrict the exploration and development of oil field. The decision method of leakage zone and the stimulation evaluation on plugging agent formula are introduced in the paper. For formation leakage, the lost circulation zone should be located first, and then the evaluation is made on the plugging agent formulas to decide an ideal formula and the corresponding plugging plan. The success rate of plugging can be increased by this way.

      Abstract:According to the difficult conditions of complex formations, much bed crack and serious water inflow in the construction of AKT1-1 geothermal drilling hole in Wenquan County of Xinjiang, the borehole structure design, drilling equipment selection, drilling tool gradation selection, new drilling process and flushing fluid preparation are summarized in this paper and corresponding drilling technologies and countermeasures are put forward to accumulate the construction experience for deep geothermal drilling in this region.

      Abstract:Qiping 3 is a horizontal well in Qijia depression at central depression area of Songliao basin with slant depth of 3574.03m, vertical depth of 2201.1 m and horizontal section length of 1195.35 m while finishing drilling. Optimized designs were made on the casing program and well track section before the construction, and hole trajectory control and geo-steering as well as drilling safety construction technologies were applied during the construction to ensure the smooth operation and achieve the various technical indicators in the design with good effects.

    • Application of Air Foam DTH Hammer Drilling Technology during the Emergency Refuge Hole Drilling in Wangjialing Coal Mine

      Abstract:Air foam DTH hammer drilling technology was used in the emergency refuge hole drilling in Wangjialing coal mine, by which the high verticality requirement of the borehole was met and formation leakage was effectively controlled to realize quick drilling. The achieved average penetration rate was as high as 7.99 m/h and the final hole horizontal displacement was only 0.48m with the second stage comprehensive cost 504.8RMB per meter. The mud was used as circulation medium with cone rotary positive circulation drilling technology in the adjacent SW1 additional hydrological exploration hole, the average ROP was 0.86 m/h with the second stage comprehensive cost 820.5RMB per meter. The average mechanical drilling rate of the former is about 9 times of the latter and is more economical than the latter by 38.5%. Compared with the cone rotary positive circulation drilling used in the adjacent well, by the use of air foam DTH hammer drilling technology, the difficulties in the emergency refuge hole drilling were solved with higher borehole quality, shorter construction period and lower cost to increase efficiency by reducing cost.

      Abstract:Multi-layer alteration zones were encountered in the construction of ZK2-6 in Pobei mining area of Xinjiang, the longest continuous intense alteration zone was 30m. In the previous construction, the property of mud with brine was hard to be ensured, which was unfavorable to the wall stability and often caused hole wall spalling, diameter oversizing and drill pipe breaking, even borehole was abandoned. According to the drilling problems in alteration zone, the related research was carried out to put forward corresponding technical measures to complete ZK2-6 in Pobei mining area.

    • Application of the Plant Gum Drilling Fluid during Drilling Construction in Ajile Pb-Zn Mine of Dongwu Banner

      Abstract:The strata of Ajile Pb-Zn mine are complex in Dongwu Banner of Inner Mongolia and multiple tectonic fracture zones were encountered in drilling process. Tuff and carbonaceous slate are the main components of the strata with alteration developing; water swelling and hydration dispersed were extremely easy to happen in muddy and siliceous cement segments, which caused lots of wall problems such as collapsing, necking and so on. In the case that the effects of a variety of flushing fluid are not ideal, the test and application were made on the low solid plant gum drilling fluid, good anti-sloughing effect was achieved with strong adaptability and moderate viscosity, the thin mud-cake formed was dense and flexible to successfully solve the wall protection in this mining area. Taking the example of ZK1507, the paper describes the obvious anti-sloughing effect of the drilling fluid used in the water sensitive strata, which could be applied in the actual production.

      Abstract:The geological structure is complex in Fujian coalfield with fault development, fractured and loose rock formations and thin sheet or muddy mudstone by being extrusion, which cause many difficulties for drilling; such as mud shale hydration expansion and severe hole collapse led by hole wall instability, etc. By the use of wire-line core drilling technology, optimum the diamond bit and scientific ratio of mud and drilling parameters, the technical difficulties in holes were successfully solved. The drilling efficiency is improved and the production cost is reduced.

      Abstract:Based on the previous construction situation of ZK5407 in Zhuxi mining area and according to the geological requirements of directional deviation correction, the general idea of directional deviation correction was determined. This paper introduces in detail the screw directional deviation correction technologies used 17 times in the segment from the hole depth of 1288.70m, angle 8.6 and azimuth 30 to the hole depth of 1637.25m, angle 2.7 and azimuth 257 , including the theoretical preparation, instrument and equipment, implementation process and drilling technology.

      Abstract:Marine gas hydrated formation is often porous and permeable. Drilling fluid will inevitably exchange the energy and materials there during the drilling process. The intrusion of water-based drilling fluid into hydrated formation and hydrate decomposition due to heat transfer by temperature difference are coupled together. The intrusion can be described as non-isothermal and unsteady percolating diffusion processes with phase transition. On the basis of comprehensive analysis on the characteristics of drilling fluid intruding natural gas hydrate-bearing formations and according to the numerical simulation of gas hydrate exploitation and conventional oil and gas reservoirs drilling fluid intrusion model, one-dimensional model of drilling fluid radial intruding into natural gas hydrate-bearing formations was established. By using the program, the analysis was made on formation pressure, saturation of each phase and the distribution of temperature while drilling fluid intruding into hydrate-bearing formation.

    • Design and Selection of Cross Section of Expandable Convoluted Tube for Geological Exploration

      Abstract:Expandable profile liner (EPL) is a new drilling technology of hole wall stability maintenance, the round tube is pressed to be special cross-section tube, lowering into the hole, then expanding to circular tube. Aiming at the requirements of geological exploration industry, a set of design theory of expandable profile liner section shape is put forward in this paper, the related steps and details of the design are systematically described, and design diagrams of expandable profile liner section shape of 6 different models and sizes were presented. On this basis, comparative analysis on the different designed section shapes are made by using ANSYS14.0 numerical simulation software, 3 principles for expandable profile liner selection are obtained: plum blossom with six petals is the best section shape; the crest & troughs radius dimensions of the designed section and the radian should be as close as possible; and the wall thickness should be as small as possible under the prerequisite of satisfying the requirements of wall protection pressure.

    • Application of Waterproof Cable Joint in Small Diameter Directional Hole

      Abstract:Along with the development of small diameter geological exploration and under the influence of formation conditions, hole accidents and hole inclination requirements, more directional drilling construction is needed. In small diameter borehole, the MWD instrument can not be put down through drill pipe of 50 or 60mm in diameter. By technical research, field tests and the improvement, a set of small diameter waterproof cable joint was developed, which solved the key technical difficulty of controlled directional drilling. The concrete steps are as following: separate the measuring probe tube and the transmission cable; connecting directional measuring probe tube and the drill pipe in advance, then put it to the predetermined depth together; through the drill pipe, the top and lower joints being connected in drilling fluid to realize electrical connection and signal transmission to complete the directional operation. This method was tested in ground detection and grouting project in a coal mine of DF33 fault and coal exploration with successful application.

      Abstract:The master winch of traditional spindle mechanical drilling machine has both the advantages of hook free-falling and rapid drilling tools lowering and the disadvantages of low abrasion resisting of belt asbestos braking, low friction coefficients, difficult operation, low sensitivity, poor heat dissipation, poor high temperature property and difficult safety control for drilling tools assembling and disassembling. For the master winch of full-hydraulic dynamic head drill, the elevating speed is controlled by the flow of hydraulic system, the safety of drilling tools assembling and disassembling is easily guaranteed, and the cooling forced by hydraulic system is also good. A hydraulic winch of full-hydraulic core drill is developed; the above problems of the master winch of traditional spindle mechanical drilling machine are solved by hydraulic pressure.

      Abstract:The experiment was made on acid slag powder as cementitious material, which was inspired based on the best recipes for 28 days. Analysis was made on the influence law of mass concentration, cement-sand ratio, dosage of water reducing agent and stirring time on the mortar fluidity, water loss rate, shrinkage and compressive strength; and according to the cement-sand ratio, comparison was made on the slurry performance of cement and slag powder cementitious material. Finally, the appropriate proportion was selected for orthogonal experiment to optimize various factors combination to achieve optimal comprehensive performance of the mortar.

    • Experimental Study on the Influence Law between Frozen Soil and Freezing Tube Diameter

      Abstract:In recent years, freezing construction method has been increasingly used in urban civil engineering construction; however, due to the insufficient theoretical basis on permafrost freezing and the limitation of research methods, the ideal scheme for freezing method design has not been found for a long period of time, great difficulties were encountered in parameters variable selection. And there were no relatively unified technical standard as reference in the construction, which causes large engineering quantity waste and construction chaos with no quality assurance for this construction method. Freezing tube diameter is the main influencing parameter. Through the research on the soil freezing tests in coaxial tubes of different tube's diameter, the distribution law of temperature field in the freezing process was analyzed by using Fluent model, the selection method for optimal freezing tube diameter is finally determined, which provides the basis for the design and construction of the freezing method.
