    • Research on the Exploration and Development of Geothermal Resources in the New Era

      Abstract:The development and utilization of clean geothermal energy can not only achieve energy saving & emission reduction and optimize energy resource structure, but also drive related equipments manufacturing, urban clean heating, hot spring town building, characteristic ecological agriculture, physical therapy and leisure vacation, tourism and other related industries. With the issuance of “The development and utilization of geothermal energy ‘13th Five-year’ Plan” as well as the practical needs of controlling air pollution, there will be a rapid development period of geothermal resources development and utilization. Therefore, sustainable, scientific and reasonable planning utilization of energy will be a new topic. This paper studies the related issues in geothermal resources management, development and utilization, engineering and hot springs cultural construction. It is suggested by strengthening policy guidance and supervision, carrying out unified management and paying attention to publicity and science popularization to enhance the service ability and role of geological work in the new era. In terms of technology, the technology research should be strengthened on deep well heat exchange system, air drilling and pump suction reverse circulation drilling technologies should be preferred under the permissible geological conditions, development of new type tubing with high strength, corrosion resistance and good thermal conductivity should be carried out.

    • Analysis on Rock Physical and Mechanical Properties and the Mud Stability Technology for Borehole Wall in Qiangtang Basin

      Abstract:Qiangtang basin is an area with the lowest annual mean ground temperature and a relatively thick frozen soil layer in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the hydrogeology and engineering geological environment are extremely complex. Because of low exploration degree in Qiangtang basin, there are few real drilling data of deep hole drilling, the study on rock physical and mechanical properties of deep rock strata in this area is lack. Therefore, combining with geophysical well-logging technology, coring and tests measuring results, the analysis is made on rock physical and mechanical parameters of the formations in QK-7 borehole drilling process for natural gas hydrate exploration, and the summarization and exploration are carried out for mud technology of borehole wall stability in extremely complex tundra abnormal pore water pressure in order to provide the practical experience for the smooth implementation of deep drilling in the strategic development of oil and gas resources in Qiangtang basin.

      Abstract:The paper introduces the general situation of Well Xiangdongdi-1 for basic geological survey of shale gas, describes emphatically the drilling construction techniques and process. Combined with the actual drilling strata and well logging data, the drilling construction quality is analyzed and summarized. In view of the problems in the drilling process, the improvement measures are put forward and remarkable effects have been achieved. Diamond wire-line core drilling technology is adopted in Well Xiangdongdi-1, by the prediction of common accidents in this technology and strong whipstocking stratum, construction methods are optimized and mid-term construction quality is strictly controlled to effectively prevent downhole accidents and improve the driller-month efficiency. 6 indicators of drilling quality meet the geological requirements, drilling construction is smoothly completed.

      Abstract:This paper mainly introduces the general situation of China-aided Cambodia rural water supply well project. According to the construction difficulties, the well construction technology has been designed in terms of well structure, equipment selection and construction procedure, etc. Moreover, this paper also puts forward many solutions for the construction difficulties and problems encountered in early construction process, good results have been achieved.

    • Downhole Directional Drilling Construction Technology in Complex Formation of Dawan Coal Mine in Guizhou

      Abstract:In view of the complex geological structure of Dawan coal mining area, advancing open branch hole distribution was adopted to detect the location of coal seam roof and floor for accurate determination of the coal seam and provide the basis for gas drainage, tunneling and mining and preparation for the follow-up work. Dawan coal mine is been defined as gas mine in the past years’ gas identification, while by ordinary drilling process in gas hole construction, large drilling workload with unqualified hole depth, difficult drilling trajectory accurate control and low gas concentration extraction rate will often be encountered. Long distance drilling in the proven coal seam can be constructed with bedding directional hole construction method to realize long-distance gas extraction in the complicated coal seam. The field test shows that by the advancing open branch hole technology, the accurate probe of complex coal seam top in the geological structure can be completed, it is found that the coal section is 75% of drilling length in a borehole. By optimizing drilling design and high precision control of borehole trajectory, the bedding directional hole coverage is greatly increased in the complex coal seam, coal section is up to 63.7% in another borehole, the gas extraction efficiency is also improved, which provides a basis for gas extracting, tunneling and mining.

      Abstract:Bit-burnt is one of the most frequent accidents during core drilling, this paper analyzes and summarizes the causes and necessary conditions of the accident, discusses the abnormal signs before the accidents happening, the prevention measures and treatment principles. Based on the treatment experiences and lessons in bit-burnt accidents, some suggestions are put forward.

      Abstract:In view of the technical difficulties of long distance drilling, high accuracy and poor fault formation in the drainage hole construction for uphill Xisan rail laneway construction in Qianyingzi coal mine, through the technical study on optimization choice of high-power directional drilling equipments, precise design and control of drilling trajectory and strong slag discharge by composite directional drilling, the drainage hole was drilled 443m accurately targeting the predetermined site of laneway with the up-down error of 0.19m and the horizontal displacement error of 1.72m. By the end of December 1, 2017, the total discharge amount reached 3200m3, the tunneling safety of uphill rail and uphill return air channel are effectively protected.

      Abstract:The prospecting work for gold deposits in Xiling exploration area has entered the prospecting stage, the grid layout was plotted 80m × 80m with very strict drilling quality requirements: the target deviation in the final completion should be less than 1/4 of the exploration grid, that is not exceeding 20m. For the holes in Xiling exploration area, the designed depth were all more than 1500m, some even more than 2500, which is far beyond the requirements of geological core drilling procedures. Based on many years’ experience in deep hole construction, some breakthroughs have been made in deviation prevention and straightening, drilling tool centralizer is independently developed and a borehole straightening method is originated to form a set of practical drilling quality assurance measures.

      Abstract:Digitization and intelligentization are new direction of drilling engineering development, but it is still in its primary stage. Aiming at the abnormal pressure layer in the lower well section of offshore well 19-6 and the narrow safety window for drilling fluid prediction, by using Drillworks software, DC index method and subsection logging data correction method, the formation pressure monitoring while drilling is carried out; by the combination of dynamic tracking software Well-Ahead software and Landmark software hydraulic module calibration, the dynamic hydraulic monitoring while drilling (ECD while drilling, tripping swabbing and surge pressure analysis) are carried out to ensure the drilling fluid circulation equivalent between the bottom hole and the casing shoe in 3 pressures safety windows. Through the establishment of this remote data support model, the digital process of drilling engineering is further promoted and the drilling safety is effectively guaranteed.

    • Synthesis and Property of High Temperature Resistant Fluid Loss Additive for Oil Well Cement

      Abstract:A new fluid loss additive for oil well cement was synthesized with acrylic acid (AA), n, n-dimethylacrylamide (DMAA), 2-acrylamide-2-methyl propane sulfuric acid (AMPS), acryl amide (AM), and sodium p-styrenesulfonate (SSS), the comprehensive performance of cement slurry prepared by the new oil well cement fluid loss additive was evaluated by laboratory test. The results show that the cement slurry filtration can be controlled within 50 ml according to API measurement standard by adding this fluid loss additive and the temperature tolerance is up to 180℃. With the improved water separation resistance, longer thickening time and 36% saline tolerance, this fluid loss additive should be further widely used.

      Abstract:In the water supply well of Kouzhuang station of shenshuo railway, the unsatisfactory water-sealing effect greatly influences the water quality. Aiming at the problems in water-sealing and plugging, plugging and grouting technology with upper and lower packer is put forward under the condition of well completion; the water quality turbidity is solved. The practice shows that this technology is simple in construction and flexible in use with good water-sealing effect.

      Abstract:Being the deepest depth of coring salt mine for Chongqing Bureau of Geology and Minerals Exploration, rock salt exploration well ZK0001 is completed with the depth of 3805m in Huangling mining district of Yunyang. In the core drilling process, Xinchuan 6-5 single rotary and double-tube core barrel, PDC coring bit and surface-set diamond bit were selected with strict operation procedures to overcome the difficult problems of formation fracture, well diameter shrinkage, core blocking and salting-out crystallization, the samples were collected in the interval of 3159.85~3805m with coring footage of 254.49m, the average footage for single cylinder was 13.39 meters, the coring recovery quality was excellent, and the average core recovery reached 98.1%, 53.11m rock salt in layer thickness was obtained, which could provide valuable experience for the construction of deep salt mine exploration and exploitation in this area.

      Abstract:Take a mountain side slope in Xiuyan County of Liaoning Province as an example, the potential sliding surface is found out with trenching, drilling and large-scale shear tests. 3D numerical simulation is made on the side slope with FLAC3D software to analyze the relationship between stress and strain in order to determine the area with large deformation and stress concentration; meanwhile by using strength reduction method to draw safety factor of the landslide and evaluate its stability. Comparing the data obtained in the deformation monitoring points arranged at the tensioning fractures on the back edge of the slope with the numerical simulation results, the reliability of the numerical simulation can be verified to provide the basis for the anti-sliding design of the side slope.

      Abstract:This paper mainly introduces ZT-TG500 type pipe pushing machine about its parameters, working principles, main structure and functions, key technology and the usage. This machine plays an auxiliary role for trenchless equipments in the trenchless construction process, can save the stuck section in pipeline construction and also can help trenchless equipment push the pipeline forward, so as to ensure the success of the project. Due to the use of electro-hydraulic proportional control technology, zero to maximum stepless speed regulation can be achieved, which has brought a lot of benefits to the construction. Vulcanized rubber vulcanization coating technology is used, by the key data in the test, to meet the parameter requirement in practical engineering; with double oil cylinder synchronous anti-torsion technology, using mechanical hydraulic control methods of sliding rail and large shunt valve to realize zero resistance of the cylinder, which can effectively provide the cylinder thrust for the project. This pipe pushing machine is applied in Qingzhou water pipe laying and water piper laying crossing Songhuajiang with good effect.

With a case of bored cast-in-place pile constructed in miscellaneous fill of Changbai Mountain area, the impact drilling technology is selected after the analysis on the applicability of different holing methods. This paper introduces the construction process, difficulties and countermeasures as well as mud treatment, expounds the construction technology of rock-socketed piles in thick-layer miscellaneous fill site.

    • Analytical Research on Vibration Damping Capacity of Diamond Drill Bit Used in Geological Exploration

      Abstract:In geological exploration, the drill bit generates vibration under the actions of axial pressure and rotary torque, normal stress, tangential stress and displacement, which have negative influences on drilling. If resonance is formed, it will bring destructive effect and obstruction on the drilling tools and drilling process. Using bit matrix material with high vibration damping capacity is one of the effective methods to reduce the bit vibration. Scientists of Tula Scientific Research Institute of Geological Exploration in Russia have studied the vibration damping capacity of different materials and considered that the vibration damping capacity of material BK6M with linear dimension 0.04mm is better than the other materials that have been tested. In Ural region, production test was carried out by geological exploration team ГП-УС-30 on the bit made of WC powder with linear dimension ratio 1.15~1.25 and area ratio 40∶1~48∶1 and large-particle Relit hard alloy powder, good technical and economical results are obtained, bit service life increased by 50% and specific expense of diamond reduced by 80%~90%.
