    • Numerical Simulation and Field Test study on Heat Injection Pipeline of Oil Shale In-Situ Pyrolysis

      Abstract:As an unconventional oil and gas resource, oil shale is expected to be a substitute for oil. At present, the underground oil shale insitu pyrolysis technology has better prospects due to its good product quality and environmentfriendly to surroundings. The pyrolysis temperature is the key factor of oil shale insitu pyrolysis, so it is of great importance to reduce the heat loss of the heat injection pipe. Therefore, the heat transfer characteristic of heat injection pipe column for insitu pyrolysis is studied by numerical simulation and field test. According to the heat transfer calculation, the heat preservation and injection pipe column is designed to be a steel pipe with outer diameter of 32mm, and the outer layer is wrapped with 24mm thick aerogel. The numerical analysis shows that the larger the N2 injection flow rate is, the shorter the time to reach the steady temperature at the heat pipe column injection outlet can be; when the N2 inlet temperature of the pipe column is 500°C, the outlet temperature can reach 400℃ a certain time after gas injection. Field experiments are carried out on heat injection pipe column in Nong’an oil shale insitu pyrolysis pilot test project, the heat preservation effect is obtained and the temperature at the well bottom reaches the designed value, shale oil is successfully mined.

      Abstract:The oceanic gas hydrate is considered to have great resource potential, therefore, some countries have put into the research on the oceanic gas hydrate trial production, and this research work is very active in recent years. This paper provides a comprehensive introduction of the research progress and achievements in oceanic gas hydrate trial production and summarizes the shortcomings of present oceanic gas hydrate mining ways and methods both in China and abroad. The conditionality by these shortcomings are listed, some opinions to realize the commercial exploitation of natural gas hydrate are put forward.

      Abstract:AD 4017 well, located Lukeqing oil field in Tuha basin, belong to I block structure in AD. There is rarely a precedent of drilling accident caused by downhole collapse in the early exploration and prospection of the block. The well structure design of AD4017 well,is designed by referencing the preliminary geological exploration data and design data of adjacent wells, It is not considered the situation that there is a thin coal bed in the drilling process. The original design is easy to lead to the instability of the well wall in this well, so the drilling accident occurred in the actual drilling process. The article through research of drilling stuck accident for AD 4017 well, deeply analysis the well collapse mechanism and reason of stuck may exist from the geological factors, physical and chemical factors, technology factors etc, which put forward preventive measures and treatment methods of pertinence for those factors lead to the sticking accident.

      Abstract:Shunbei oilfield is the substitute region of Tahe oilfield which belongs to the Northwest Oilfield Branch Company, SINOPEC, it is the deepest oil and gas reservoirs in China with high formation temperature and high pressure, and there is diabase in many parts of Ordovician Sangtamu formation. Because of this, the medium-short radius horizontal well drilling in super-deep slim hole has to be used. Taking the case of well Shunbei 14H, with the difficulties of insufficient bit pressure transmit, instruments matching under high temperature and trajectory control. With the corresponding technical countermeasures, the drilling target is completed to discover oil and gas reservoir. φ120.65mm slim hole drilling is adopted for well Shunbei 14H, the completion depth is 8049.50m, creating a new record of the deepest depth of horizontal well in φ120.65mm slim hole. The completion of well Shunbei 14H provides the reference for the construction of horizontal well in super-deep slim hole.

    • Horizontal well drilling fluid technology at Mesozoic formation of Zhuangxi beach area

      Abstract:The whole well small circulation technology with zero-discharge of drilling fluid is implemented in Zhuangxi beach area, solid control is difficult at upper strata with rapid drilling; for there are serious block falling and collapse in mudstone of the Dongying formation and the oil mudstone of the Shahejie formation and high requirements in lubrication and collapse prevention for Mesozoic horizontal section, some targeted measures are taken respectively. The field test shows that by the use of calcium chloride high-inhibition drilling fluid system at upper formation, the dispersion of clay and cuttings is inhibited to meet the engineering requirements of the rapid drilling with small circulating and mud zero-discharge; low-activity and strong-inhibition drilling fluid system is used at lower formations, the drilling fluid activity is controlled below 0.96 and HTHP filtration loss is less than 12mL, which ensures the well stability of mudstone formation. The oil-base drilling fluid recycling technology is applied at the third horizontal section, the emulsification stability of the optimized drilling fluid performs well, demulsification voltage is greater than 460 v, which solves the problems such as big friction torque and collapse in horizontal well drilling in the Mesozoic formation.

      Abstract:Due to the complex lithology, poor drillability, tough abrasiveness and high formation pressure of continental facies Lower Shaximiao formation to Xujiahe formation, poor ROP, long drilling cycle and low efficiency are encountered by using conventional drilling cone bit and PDC bit, while by introducing the expensive imported torsion impactor + PDC or impregnated diamond bit + turbodrill, ROP can be obviously improved, but economic benefits is bad. In order to reduce the drilling cost, according to the geological characteristics of the tough abrasive formation, the development and optimization of personalized bits and supporting efficient tools are carried out, the efficient integrated drilling technology system is formed for tough abrasive formation in Yuanba region, that is, the developed KS1362ADGR type PDC bit + domestic high-torque screw motor in the formation upside Zhenzhuchong section of Ziliujing formation and domestic NR826M type impregnated diamond bit + high-speed screw motor in Zhenzhuchong section and Xujiahe formation. The field application of 3 wells showed that the average ROP increased by 64.7% compared with well completion indicators in 2012—2013; the average drilling cycle shortened by 36.3% even in the situation of well section length increased by 8.7%. This technology will have a guiding function in high abrasive formations drilling in Xujiahe formations in the Northeast and Western Sichuan.

      Abstract:Along with the economic development and further improvement of mineral resources development and utilization, geological exploration is developing toward to deep and complex strata, drilling construction is also developing toward to the directional holes and branch holes. Higher requests are put forward for drilling technology to realize more comprehensive understanding of geological conditions, and the control of drilling trajectory also should be more and more accurate. In this paper, the drilling trajectory monitoring and mapping are described in detail, the related concepts of drilling trajectory and the calculation methods of the relevant parameters are elaborated. By the study on the related functions of Excel spreadsheet, which is successfully applied in the drilling trajectory parameters calculation and analysis; based on the research, Slidworks three-dimensional graphic software is successfully applied in drilling trajectory monitoring and mapping. The methods have been verified the feasibility in the actual work case.

      Abstract:This paper introduces the construction situation of scientific drilling ZK01 and the key technologies adopted, HXY9 type drilling rig and some other equipment are used and the final depth of ZK01 is 3266.06m with 98mm in diameter. According to the difficulties in super-deep hole construction, complex formation construction and drilling machines matching, the shortage of China-made HXY9 type drilling rig and the key technologies of the combined use of deep hole drill column, the application of double polymer mud system with LBM as main component in complex formation and the application of special JS150/122wire-line coring drill are elaborated in detail.

      Abstract:With the case of H17/H18 butt well in brine transportation project of a salt and chemical company in Shandong, the paper introduces the application of directional drilling and butting technology for brine wells and the design of directional drilling trajectory, which is based on the detailed formations exploration; and also introduces the construction technology of directional horizontal well. For this project, the key technologies are drilling fluid selection and parameter control in the drilling process; and what''s more, MWD inclinometer technology and rotating magnet ranging system (RMRS) are used to measure the real-time drilling direction and then adjust the drilling direction according to the needs of the project in order to ensure the successful well butting. The difficulties in this project construction process and the technical countermeasures can be reference for the similar drilling construction.

      Abstract:Because of the strong weathered rock fracture joints developing and uneven degree of rock weathering as well as uneven rock hardness, the conventional composite bit are replaced by impregnated diamond bit, which makes the grinding mode change to cutting mode in the drilling process to improve drilling efficiency; in order to improve the core recovery and protect the strong weathered cores in the coring tool and avoid the core segments from grinding each other, the single pipe drilling tool is replaced by single-action double pipe drilling tool. Relatively high quality mud is used to protect wall and prevent drill pipe sticking in drilling and tripping.

      Abstract:The Quaternary loose soil of the Yangtze floodplain area is a thick and complex aquifer with typical binary characteristics of geological structure, containing thin interlayer, leading to the vertical permeability far less than the horizontal direction, which has great influence on the dewatering of deep foundation pit engineering. In the river channel, underground traffic system of Qing’ao axis and the related works of Meizizhou in Nanjing, by the full use of the advantages of diversion infiltration technology, it is successful to dewatering the upper formation of the basement to achieve a safe and dry work environment, meet the requirements of foundation pit excavation and save a great deal cost of the project, which has very good reference for deep foundation pit engineering with similar hydrogeological conditions.

The geological identification hole is 780m in depth with 108mm in diameter, full hole coring drilling, the construction focuses on the core recovery, rotary drilling is adopted with mud protection, and according to the lithology in different drilling horizons, various mud are prepared. The bedrock mark hole is 780m in depth with 311mm in diameter, the construction focuses on the borehole quality and verticality, full face drilling technology is adopted with three-cone bit and pagoda type BHA, good construction quality is achieved.

      Abstract:In drilling engineering, particularly in deep hole drilling, various complicated cases are often encountered, for example, drilling in very hard and fractured formations, drill bit cooling while drilling with compressed air or foam and keeping diameters of the hole and core, etc. However, the solutions of these problems are almost all related to the technical characteristics and working ability of the drill bits to be used. The study should be carried on the drill bits to be used and the countermeasures in order to improve the technical and economic indexes of drilling engineering. Russian specialists have made a great deal studies on drill bits those can be used in solving the above problems and have achieved some good results, including diamond drill bits used in hard fractured rocks, diamond drill bits in compressed air (foam) drilling and diamond gauge protecting bits. This paper introduces the structures, working principles and the advantages of these patented diamond bits, which can be the reference in China.
